MFP Swears It Won’t Join an “Inter-Bloc” Government

After the forthcoming election, the Move Forward Party (MFP) won’t participate in an “inter-bloc” coalition government, according to the party’s campaign assistant Piyabutr Saengkanokkul.

Piyabutr was alluding to a coalition made up of both pro-dictatorship and pro-democracy groups. The MFP would prefer to be an opposition party if a government were to be formed with such a mix.

Election Law Fairs

The Thai Sang Thai Party (TST) has denounced the populist platforms that other parties are pursuing in the run-up to the election, claiming that they allow a vicious cycle fueled by unrelenting greed that feeds corruption.

According to Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, political parties are vying with one another to develop the strongest populist programs, promising gifts and benefits at the expense of taxpayers.

  • The PPRP has suggested that a body of people be chosen to rewrite the constitution.

Khunying Sudarat also stated that the country’s ongoing political confrontation, which pits the so-called pro-democracy side against pro-dictatorship parties, is expected to worsen after the upcoming election.

To make election laws fair for everyone, the Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP) has suggested that a body of people be chosen to rewrite the constitution. The head of the party’s political strategy committee believes that the National Village and Urban Community fund needs to be promoted more as a means of boosting the grassroots economy.

To fulfill its promise to contribute 200,000 baht to each of the 79,610 national village and urban community funds across the country, the PPRP will need to allocate almost 16 billion baht.

According to opinion polls, the Prachachart Party anticipates gaining at least ten MP seats in the upcoming election. Prachachart will probably be a part of the following administration and be given at least two cabinet positions if the party can win more House seats and the opposition coalition now led by the Pheu Thai Party takes office.

Starting with a constitutional amendment to establish a fully democratic nation, the new administration will put an end to issues that have gone unresolved.
